Hello, darlings.
A few months ago this show was a "wouldn't it be fun if" and a very long to-do list. Tonight the Des Moines Theater is full of fishnets, corsets and people who are about to yell at a movie screen together. I could not be prouder.
This first Rocky Horror happened because a lot of people said yes. Performers who rehearsed on their own time. A historic theater that opened its doors to something brand new. Local businesses who poured the drinks, plated the snacks and sold the corsets. Volunteers who checked IDs and walked strangers to their seats. And every one of you who bought a ticket to a show that had never happened before.
Every prop bag you bought supports Waterland Pride. Every drink and every nibble keeps dollars on Marine View Drive. And every callback you shout tonight tells this town it's ready for more nights like this one.
So grab your prop bag, open the Play Along tab, and give it everything you've got. This is the first annual, not the last. See you in 2027.
